On Friday, August 13, 2021, Patty Elaine Nichols (Ambrose), loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin passed away at the age of 63. Patty was preceded in death by her father, Paul “Pete” Ambrose; her mother, Vivian “Jerry” Ambrose; and her sister, Vivian Ambrose. She is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Gary; her three children Erin, Robert (Megan), and Amber; her brothers, Donald (Sonnia), Brett (Lisa), and Hal; her sister, Betty Jo; her grandchildren, Marissa, Mariah, Davin, Maddie, Lizzie & Bentley, and Jake; her great grandchild, Aspyn; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Guyton native and bargain shopper, if you ever wanted to run into Patty your best bet would be at Dollar General. With a buggy full of toys for the grandkids and a hand full of coupons she would spend hours making sure she got everything on her list just to come home and realize she forgot the Blue Plate Mayonnaise. Patty was also a big fan of the outdoors. If you called her 3 times without getting an answer you knew that her, and Gary were out at the lakes fishing, and she had lost track of time. Time was never an issue with Patty, ask any of her family. Often late to absolutely every function her family learned if the birthday party started at 3, they told Patty it started at noon, and just maybe she would get there by 5.
Patty was the rock of her family. Known as Mama, Pat Pat, and Aunt Patty she exceeded in taking care of each and every person that walked through her door. Her best days were sitting on her front porch, surrounded by her kids and grandkids, family and friends, talking and laughing. Her best nights were spent sitting on her front porch with Gary, watching the deer in the field in front of their house. Patty was the embodiment of kindness and love, and she will truly be missed by her family and friends.
