Mary Jane Edwards

Mary Jane Edwards, 86, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Edwards was born on December 4, 1934 in South Carolina to the late William and Myrtie Hyman. Mrs. Mary was an avid gardener and farmer. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables and was an amazing cook. In her free time, she loved singing gospel music, sewing, but most of all spending time with her family. In a few words the best way to describe her is, Best Momma Ever.

Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Mr. Johnnie “Berry” Edwards; sons, Johnny Edwards and Mitchell Edwards; parents, William and Myrtie Hyman; and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: her daughters, Ethel Edwards of Clyo and Polly Edwards of Guyton; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7pm on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Silver Hill United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
