Marvin "Butch" Smith, Jr.

Clyo- Marvin “Butch” Smith, Jr., 74, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Effingham County Hospital.

Marvin was born on July 24, 1947, in Sylvania, GA. He was involved in the heating and air business for most of his life and worked for Richards Heating and Air for the past 27 years. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed hunting and fishing. The most enjoyment he found was spending time with his grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Smith, Sr.; and his sister, Janice Smith.

He is survived by his son, Travis Smith; daughter, Morgan Smith; stepdaughter, Charity Barr; mother, Charlotte Ash; sisters, Charlene Hughes, Cheryl Driggers, and Dianne Joslin; grandchildren, Gaston, Ashton, Coy, Tristan, Samantha, Robbie, and Zachary; and many aunts, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service is planned to take place at a later date.
