Javid "Smitty" Smith

Clyo- Javid “Smitty” Mainard Smith, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his residence.

Javid was born on December 16, 1940 in Lumberton, NC to the late Lubie and Ada Lee Smith. Following his graduation from Groves High School, he joined the military and served in the Army National Guard. Go Kart racing, racing race cars and fishing were among a few of his favorite hobbies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lubie and Ada Smith; siblings, Janice Mullis and Kelly Smith; and grandson, Gerald Raymond Smith, Jr.

He leaves behind his loving children, Gerald Raymond Smith (Patricia) and Kimberly Fudge (Christopher); siblings, B.L. Smith(Wanda), Margaret Turner (Lewis) and Weldon Smith; grandchildren, Chelsea Smith and Taylor Fudge (Eric);  and several great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
