David M. Schneider, 87, of Rincon, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
David was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA., but called Georgia his home for 47 years. He graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1955. Joining the Naval reserve while still in high school, he was honorably discharged after eight years of service. He was a retiree of NCR, where he worked for 30 years. He then went on to work in other areas, including EWI Wholesalers, Best Buy and, finally his most beloved job in the fishing department at Bass Pro Shops. He was an avid fisherman, master woodworker and lover of electronics.
David is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; and four children, Bobbi Writch (Alan), Tim Schneider (Missy), Dawn Brewer (Billy) and Debbie Sikes (Toby). He is also survived by his two sisters, Carol Derence and Cindy Ritenour. David had 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grand-daughter, along with many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces. David was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Emma Schneider, along with his oldest son, Tom Welsh.
David was described as a sweet and gentle soul whose smile and laugh would warm your heart. Aside from his love of fishing and woodworking, David’s greatest passion was his family. He loved being with them all and was never afraid to express how much God blessed his life through the love of his family.
Visitation will be held at Pine Street Baptist Church (118 Lynn Bonds Ave, Guyton, GA) from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, May 6, 2023, with a funeral service to follow at 11am in the church. Interment will follow immediately after in the Springfield Annex Cemetery.
