Caryn Nalani (Ramsey) Kapeli

Caryn Nalani Kapeli (Ramsey), 56, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born in Beaufort, SC to Randall Boyd “Butch” Ramsey Sr. and Claralyn Nalani Kekaula on May 18, 1965.

Caryn graduated from Jenkins High school in 1983, but also attended Moanalua High, Waiakea High, and Aiea High in Hawaii. Shortly after graduating high school, Caryn moved to Springfield, GA, where she devoted her entire life to her five children.

Caryn had a beautiful and kind soul. She loved Christmas, gardening, and anything that sparkled and shined. She once won first place for her Christmas lawn decoration in Springfield. She never met a stranger and always opened her home to anyone who had nowhere else to go, especially during the holidays.

Caryn was preceded in death by her son, Lance Randall Winters; grandson, Knox Ramsey Winters; father, Randall Boyd Ramsey Sr; brother, Randall Boyd Ramsey Jr; aunt, Caroline Beasley; uncle, Harry Beasley; and hānai father, Shon C. Bowden lll.

She is survived by her mother, Claralyn Nalani Bernardo; daughter, Valerie (David) Nessmith; son, Shane (Danyel) Winters; daughter, Chelsea Lewis; daughter, Caroline (Michael) Bowen; daughter-in-law, Karina Winters; grandkids, David (DJ) and Kimberlyn Nessmith, Collin, Quinn, and Calen Winters, Anniston, Colton, and Callie Winters; best friends, Regina Overstreet, Janet King, and Angela Rhinehardt; cousin, Lisa Cash; hānai mother, Angel Ramos Bowden; hānai brother, Shon C. Bowden lV; hānai sister, Caroline Leialoha B. Tumpap; Uncles, Matt and Tim Bowden; aunts, Lani Kekaualua and Kanani Harris, and 500+ Grand Aunts, Aunts, Uncles, friends, and family.

The family will receive friends from 11-12pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 12pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
