GUYTON- Barbara Sessions Dudney, 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

Mrs. Barbara was born June 27, 1934 in Brunswick, Georgia.  As a child, Barbara moved to Chatham County but has been a resident of Effingham County for the last 49 years.  She lived at Griffin Lakes for most of her adult life.

She was a graduate of Commercial High School in Savannah.  Before retiring, Barbara worked at Gulfstream Aviation for almost 20 years.  She was a member of Elam Egypt Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence E. Dudney, Sr; her parents, Rollie Hazel Sessions and Ouida Harmon Sessions; sisters, Norene Nease, and Patricia Helmey; and her brother Rollie Henry Sessions, Sr.

Survivors include: her son, Larry Dudney (Katie); daughters Audrey Lynn Davy (Ed), and Lisa D. Neal (David); grandchildren, Joshua Neal (Mallory), Eddie Davy, Jessica Neal Gates (Daniel), Harley Dudney, and Werner Dudney; 2 great granddaughters, Ember and Clover Neal; and several much loved nieces and nephews.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of her happiest times were spent being surrounded by her family just enjoying time together. In her earlier years she loved to garden, being involved in church, and singing in the church choir.

Barbara made church a priority for her family as her faith and prayer were an important part of her life.  Some of her favorite scriptures were Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore, my heart greatly rejoices!” and Matthew 17:20 “If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed nothing shall be impossible to you.

There will be a family only service held on Thursday October 7th at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Elam Egypt Cemetery.

The family suggests that any remembrances be made in her memory to Elam Egypt Baptist Church.
