-Garfield- Mr. William "Billy" Brown, 80, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Billy was born in Statesboro, Georgia on May 6, 1937 to Robert and Mattie Brown. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy, a carpenter and a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Brown; parents, Robert and Mattie Brown; children, Rick Brown, Janice Lanier and Cheryl Carter; and brothers, Thomas Owen Brown and James Arnold Brown.
Survivors include: his daughter, Patty Bullard of Savannah; step-daughter, Renee Smith of Powder Springs, Georgia; step-son, Timothy Lance Kelly of Hiram, Georgia; sister, Janie Smith of Alabama, Betty Weathers of Augusta, Jinell Wood of Guyton, Mary Dasher of Guyton, Peggy Wise of Bluffton, South Carolina and Sue Thompson of Metter; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be held in the Guyton Cemetery.
