Stella Cook, beloved mother and grandmother,94, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her residence. Stella was born to the late Perry and Pearl Ginn Edwards on December 2, 1929, in Clyo, Georgia and lived in Effingham her whole life.
Stella lived a remarkable life full of love, kindness and devotion to her family and faith. She embraced her work as a supervisor for White Stag for many years, while caring for her family.
Kindness seemed to flow effortlessly from Stella's heart; she always went out of her way to make people feel loved. Stella was known for her loving nature and genuine smile that could brighten anyone's day.
Her hobbies included fishing and playing cards with friends and family; these simple joys brought happiness into her life. But if you asked Stella what meant the most to her, it would undoubtedly be her Christian faith. She found solace in reading her bible daily and drew strength from it throughout her journey.
A devoted member of Pineora Baptist Church, Stella actively participated in church activities and gatherings, while she was able. Her unwavering faith served as an inspiration to all those around her.
As a wonderful mother, Stella poured all her love into raising her son, George "Bo" Cook. Bo's wife Diane also held a special place in Stella's heart. The love and guidance she provided as a mother will forever be cherished by her son.
Stella's pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Bailey Cook of Lawrenceville, Ga and Robert Cook of Springfield, Ga. They were the apples of her eye, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for them knew no bounds, and they will carry her beautiful spirit with them along life's journey.
Stella is preceded in death by her husband, George P. Cook; parents Perry and Pearl Edwards, and 3 children.
Stella Cook leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and faith. She touched the hearts of everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice, for the wonderful care they gave to Mrs. Stella during her last days.
