Solomon "David" Howard

April 25, 1952 — February 17, 2026

Pembroke

David (Solomon David) Howard Sr., 73, entered eternal rest on February 17, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

David was born on April 25, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia, to Solomon Howard and Mary Nesmith Howard, who preceded him in death. He shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jennifer Cail Howard, and together they raised two sons in Pooler, Ga.

David was a devoted father and the biggest supporter of his sons and daughters-in-law, Davie & Melissa Howard and Michael & Tara Howard. He was also a proud and loving Papa to his eight grandchildren: Layton Howard, Chloe & Lance Trice, Maleah Howard, Lillian Howard, Maegan Howard, Presley Howard, Garrett Chapman, and Ellison Howard.

He is survived by his siblings Connie & Steve Zentiska, Karen & John Bennett, and Robert & Vicki Howard. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Howard.

David was a graduate of Groves High School, Class of 1971. He went on to have a successful career in the home construction industry as the founder of David Howard Construction. A skilled custom home builder for many years, he was a hard worker and instilled this ethic, along with many other skills, into his sons. His legacy will live on as they continue to follow his example. He eventually retired to devote himself to caring for his beloved wife. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, the great outdoors, and spending time with his family.

In leau flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Jenny’s survival.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Alpha Methodist Church in Bloomingdale Georgia. Friends of the family are welcome to visit and pray with the family prior to the service.
