Selby Hutchinson DeWitt

-Guyton- Mrs. Selby Hutchinson DeWitt, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at her residence.
Selby loved Southern Gospel music, traveling with her husband in their RV, attending the National Quartet Convention, and participating in various church programs. She gained much enjoyment from teaching Preschool Kindergarten and piano lessons. Selby, along with her husband, served as Youth Directors for a length of time. Mrs. DeWitt also provided music for many church services throughout her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Rev. James B. and Edna Hutchinson; son, James Michael Dewitt; and brother, Harrell Hutchinson.
Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, William R. DeWitt; sons, William R. "Bobby", Jr. of Savannah, Ansley DeWitt of Atlanta and Jeff DeWitt of South Ogden, Utah; brother, James B. Hutchinson, Jr. of Hephzibah; and 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22 from 3 - 4 PM with memorial services to follow at 4 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Selby, to the Guyton Fire Department, P.O. Box 90 Guyton, Georgia 31312.
