Ruth Malphus, 87, died June 20, 2020 after a long illness, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, with her family by her side.
She was born in 1932 in Shawnee, Georgia and later moved to Guyton, Georgia where she spent most of her years, and then on to Springfield, Georgia.
Mrs. Malphus was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family. She loved to fish and she also loved watching her flowers bloom. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her first husband, Cheatham Ray Edwards; second husband, Roy Eugene Malphus; and her sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Malphus is survived by: 1 daughter, Brenda Coursey of Rincon, GA; 2 sons and their spouses, Lynwood and Debbie Edwards of Clyo, GA, and Mark and Patty Edwards of Pineora, GA; and 6 grandchildren, Amanda & Jay Mann of Bremen, GA, Sheila and Danny Fries of Springfield, GA, Marie and Lance Beaupre of Clyo, GA, Christy Edwards of Clyo, GA, Michael and Catherine Edwards of Rincon, GA and Lee Edwards of Pineora, GA; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 step-daughter, Mindy and Pat Tebeau of Springfield, GA.
There will be a graveside service held at the Guyton Cemetery at 10:30am on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
