Roy Ernest Moulton, Jr., 79, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on October 2, 1945, in Hartford, Connecticut, Roy embraced life with a warmth and strength that touched everyone he met.
A proud United States Marine, Roy embodied the spirit of the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." His service instilled in him values of honor, discipline, and resilience which he carried with great pride throughout his life. Roy often reminisced about his time in the military, reflecting on the lessons learned and the camaraderie shared.
Roy dedicated an impressive 55 years to Savannah Electric Power Company, where he built a remarkable career and forged lasting friendships. His commitment to his work was matched by his passion for life outside the office.
An avid gardener, Roy found joy in nurturing his yard and spending time outdoors. He loved embarking on various projects and could often be seen walking through the neighborhood, engaging with neighbors and sharing stories. His friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others created a tapestry of relationships that enriched his life.
Roy is survived by his beloved Son, Scott (Jessica) Moulton of Canton, Georgia; his cherished Daughter, Michelle (Chad) George of Houston, Texas; his Grandchildren, Justine Moulton, Brandon (Johdi) Moulton, Wyatt George, and Ashton Argo; and his Great-Granddaughter, Chloe Moulton. He also leaves behind his longtime best friend, Ann Davis, along with her daughter Amber, Amber’s fiancé, Daniel, and their children, Kutlier, Layla, and Rosie—relationships he treasured deeply.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 10:30 AM. A Veteran’s burial will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery in South Carolina at 1:00 PM on the same day.
Roy Moulton's legacy of love, friendship, and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
