Robert Wilson Benton, Sr.

Robert Wilson Benton, Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at East Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Benton was born on February 29, 1936, in Clyde, Georgia and lived in Pembroke for many years. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years and lived a life of construction, business owner, and truck driving. In his free time, Mr. Benton enjoyed fishing, cooking and above all spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Pearla Benton; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and daughter, Youlanda Mussen.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Mary Benton; sons, Thomas Benton of Blitchton, Ga, Jeffery Benton of Brunswick, Ga, Allen Benton of Ellabell, Ga, and Robert Benton, Jr. of Clyo, Ga; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 2-3pm with a graveside service to follow at 4pm in Pembroke, Ga at the Northside Cemetery.
