Richard A. Wilson

Richard A. Wilson, 71, passed away surrounded by his wife and children on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Candler Hospital after battling a long illness.

Richard was born on March 17, 1952, in Savannah, GA to Henry and Fannie Wilson and lived in Shawnee, GA all his life.  He was a devoted husband and dad; and family meant everything to him.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working as a landscaper for many years.  Richard was a social person, and every chance he got he would share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Adored by his grandchildren and great grandchildren alike, Richard lived a full blessed life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Wilson; and parents, Henry Ervin and Fannie Wilson.

Survivors include, his wife of 50 years, Janet Wilson; children, Shandelah Hudson, Lavert Wilson, Linda Reddick, and Loraine Wilson; brothers, Donald Wilson, and Thomas Wilson; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tristan, Dillan, Madison, Landon and Emma; great grandchildren, Nolan, Asher, Slayder, Vesper, and Alexis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home with interment to follow at Turkey Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
