Peggy Amanda Blakely

Peggy Amanda O’Neal Blakely, age 73, and widow of Ricardo John Blakely, passed away at her home on Sunday evening, August 3, 2025.

She was born to the late couple Morris Jefferson O’Neal and Carol Helmey O’Neal, on June 5, 1952, In Pineora, Georgia. Peggy was a waitress for many years. She was married to Ricardo for 37 years. Peggy loved working in the yard, gardening and flowers. She was known to have a green thumb. Peggy enjoyed watching NCIS. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo John Blakely; parents, Morris Jefferson O’Neal and Carol Helmey O’Neal; two brothers, Jeff O’Neal and Johnny O’Neal.

Those who will cherish her memory are her son, John Blakely; daughter, Katrina O’Neal; five grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Brianna, John and Bella; brothers Michael O’Neal, Dilly O’Neal and Jerry Bowen; sister, Helen Godbee and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, August 12, 2025, at 4 o’clock, at Pineora Baptist Church.
