Oscar Mark Dobson, Jr.

Oscar “Mark” Dobson, 73, of Clyo, GA passed away peacefully at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Ga on Monday, February 26, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. 

Mark was a retired truck driver and worked for Transus Truck Lines for over 30 years. In his free time, Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Dobson Sr and Edna Dobson; and brother, Larry Humphries.

Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Susan Chilen Dobson; children, Jackie Cronic, David Dobson, Johnny Dobson, Justin Zipperer (Crystal), Derrick Zipperer (April); grandchildren, Candice, Christopher, April, Katie, Morgan, Hannah, Addison, Layla, Koleman, and Kylar; sister, Patricia Yeager (John); and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

To honor Mark’s life a funeral service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 12PM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
