Mrs. Joan Johnson

-Guyton- Mrs. Joan Johnson, 69, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, at Effingham County Extended Care. Mrs. Joan was born in Savannah, Georgia and lived in Guyton for a number of years. She was a childcare provider at Kathys Day Kare and of the baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johnson. Survivors include her two sons, James "Doodle" Johnson of Guyton and Jackie Johnson of Pooler; daughter, Melody Ann Johnson of Guyton; sister, June Lambert of Midway; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with interment to follow in the Springfield Annex.
