Mr. John Lewis Wendelken

-Rincon- Mr. John Lewis Wendelken, 56, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2015 in Hickory, North Carolina. John was a native of Effingham County but lived Hickory, North Carolina for the last 16 years. He was a gunsmith and a Methodist. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Wendelken, Sr. Survivors include: son, Christopher Wendelken of Springfield; mother, Betty Jo Wendelken of Savannah; brother, Robert Lee Wendelken, Jr.(Jackie) of Rincon; sister, Wanda Hill (Don) of Savannah; granddaughter, Avery Jennie Grace Wendelken of Rincon and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home from 5 -7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, with memorial services to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
