Mr. Daniel M. Donatien

Guyton - Mr. Daniel M. Donatien, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Effingham Care Center. Mr. Donatien was born in the West Indies, but lived in Guyton for a number of years, he was retired from the New York Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator, he was a Merchant Marine serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Donatien was preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Joseph and Laurence Ponchateau. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lazarine Donatien; two daughters, Daniella Jordon-May of New Jersey and Denise Donatien Coder of Chapel Hill, NC; three step-children, Mervyn Marcano, of Knoxville TN., Debbie Churchill of Owen Mills, Maryland and Geddes Marcano of New London Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday June 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Riggs funeral home. Interment: Guyton cemetery
