Mitchell “Mickey” Bryant Sallette, 85, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at Hospice Savannah.
Mickey was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on November 13, 1938, to the late Edward and Louise Sallette and lived in Richmond Hill for many years. Mickey retired from Union Camp after many years of service. Along with his career at Union Camp, Mickey also retired as a Major in the Army National Guard as a field artillery officer. After his retirements he stayed active through working in his yard, cooking, going fishing, and caring for his loving wife through her sickness. Above all, Mickey loved being able to spend time with his family.
Mickey was known by everyone as a kind, generous, faithful and loving man who would help anyone in need. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia “Patsy” Sallette; son, Robert Sallette; and parents, Edward and Louise Sallette.
Mickey leaves behind two sons, Michael (Patricia Bragg) Sallette, and Evan Sallette; brother, Edward L. Sallette; five grandchildren, Terry Sallette, Tyler Sallette (Margaret), Paul “Bubba” Bragg (Leigh); great-grandchildren. Colt Bragg, Kensleigh Bragg and Henslee Sallette; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 10-11am with a funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11am. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
