Michael Anthony York, 52, passed away Sun Oct 15, 2017 at his home in Guyton where he had lived since 2004.
He was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta on December 3, 1964 and grew up in the Jonesboro/Riverdale area. He attended Riverdale High School but opted for his GED so he could join the Marines upon turning 18.
His sense of humor, intellect and opinions made him quite the character. Michael loved animals, music and singing, classic movies and reading. He had an expansive personal library with topics ranging from history and politics to religion and mythology to Japanese culture.
Michael is survived by his wife, Katharine (Kat) Herring of Guyton, mother, Barbara Hughes of Griffin, GA, and his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Dianne York of Jackson, GA.
No plans for a memorial service have been made at this time.
