It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael David Atchley. Michael passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 23rd, 1963, in Benton, Arkansas, Michael was known for his spirited nature and profound love for his family. He was a dedicated construction worker whose hands built much more than structures; they also built lasting relationships and a legacy of love and laughter.

Michael is survived by his adored daughter, Shannon (Cody Hunt) Holland, and cherished grandchildren, Carson Eason and Gage Wood, who were the light of his life. His brother Tommy (Christina) Atchley, and sisters Dianna Hughey, Laura Atchley, Joanne Smith. His lively spirit and joy for life will continue to shine through his numerous nieces and nephews: David, Danny, Erin, Kisha, Willie "man-man", Timmy, Chris, Christina, Patrick, Laura B, Jeromy, Thomas, Amber, Morgan, Kailey, Abby, Jaiden, Nick, Matt, Jacob, Jaycei, Jayden, Jordan, Austin, Johnathan, Autumn, Bryan, Racheal, Terry Jr., and Jason. Michael's love extended to a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, who fondly remember him. Michael is also survived by several friends who became family over the years. Arlene Goldwire “Momma Teny” and her 5 sons who became brothers to Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Oakley Marie Atchley, brother Terry Atchley, and sister Vickie Atchley.

Michael's passions were as diverse as they were vibrant. He had a deep love for drag racing, working on cars, and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, and immersing himself in the rhythm of music. A movie enthusiast, Michael particularly enjoyed scary movies and the simple pleasure of watching TV, but nothing compared to the joy he found in spending time with his family. He was known by all as the life of the party, a testament to his vibrant personality and endless generosity of spirit.

The family appreciates all the love and support during this challenging time. Michael touched many lives with his warmth and humor, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Michael David Atchley will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, with the engines roaring and the music playing, surrounded by the love of those who have awaited him.
