-Rincon- Mr. Melvin Sanders Patton,73, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Candler Hospital.
Mr. Patton was a 1963 Jenkins High School graduate. In his youth, he was an avid baseball player in Savannah, Georgia. Fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren brought much joy to his life.
Survivors include: his daughter, Michelle DeVoe(William) of Clyo; mother, Frances Priester Patton of Greenville, South Carolina; brother, Marion "Dick" Patton (Kathryn) of Hartwell, Georgia; sister, Susan Abbott (James) of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Andrea Addington(Cory) of Liberty, South Carolina and Michael DeVoe of Clyo; great-grandson, Graham Addington; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2018, from 1 - 2 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
