Mathew Robert Eickmeyer

Mathew Robert Eickmeyer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, nurse, and friend passed away on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, at the age of 60.

Born on August 6th, 1966, Mathew lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service. A resident of Springfield, GA, built a life surrounded by family and friends who will remember him for his warmth and gentle spirit. Mathew dedicated his professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse. His compassion and kindness were evident in every aspect of his work, touching countless lives throughout his career.

Away from work, Mathew dedicated his time in service to God as well as caring and always taking time to help others. Matt had a zest for life and a variety of interests. He was an avid ham radio enthusiast, a passionate amateur astronomer, a talented guitar player, and a lover of video games. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, taking them fishing and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Mathew is preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Janet Eickmeyer, and his brother, John Eickmeyer.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Julia Eickmeyer; his devoted children, Melissa (Thomas) Grissom, Kirsten (Joel) Contreras, Candice Marini, and Mathew James (Ashley) Eickmeyer; and his sisters, Kathy Warburton and Janet (Daniel) McNulty. Mathew's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Makenzie, Miley, Milania, Liam, and Amaya, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends.

His family will always remember Mathew for his unwavering love, wisdom, and sense of humor over countless camping & fishing trips and family gatherings.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Carlson and Riggs Funeral Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
