Marcus was only 14, yet he had already made a profound impression through his character, determination, and heart. He was a hard worker, one of the smartest kids you would ever meet, and truly one of the best. He carried a drive and work ethic well beyond his years and demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit through his lawn care business. Marcus was a bright light, and his presence touched the lives of everyone around him. Marcus attended Herschel V. Marcus was a cherished member of New Life Experience Church in Savannah, Georgia, known for his unwavering devotion and joyful presence. He took great pride in wearing his Sunday best and leading heartfelt prayers. Always willing to serve, Marcus graciously lent his hands to any task, whether valeting cars, cleaning, landscaping, or countless other acts of quiet generosity that touched everyone around him.

Marcus had a deep love for the outdoors and an adventurous heart. His hobbies included football, playing for the Savannah Dogs and the Renegades, baseball, soccer, cross country running, frogging, hunting, landscaping, riding dirt bikes, and fishing. He loved anything fast and was always on the move, rarely able to sit still. He especially enjoyed fishing, his 4x4 truck, and spending time with his friends.

Marcus is survived by his loving mother, Jordan Scarpitti (Cornell Sumpter), and his father, MarQuis Anderson. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Kal’len, Brysen Sumpter, and Cornell Jr. Sumpter, Kali and Luna Sumpter.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Matt (Marie) Scarpitti and John (Sallie) Anderson; his great grandmother, Mary lee Anderson; his godfather, Joe (Chelsea) Mensah; and his godmother, Megan (Rashad) Roberts.
