Loyd Boyd Atchley

Loyd Boyd Atchley, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 6, at his residence in Guyton, Georgia.

He was born on January 18, 1941, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Frank and Cloma Atchley. Loyd loved bringing his family together, dancing “breaking the whip,” and cheering on his favorite football team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Atchley; his daughter, Vickie Atchley; his brother, Charles Atchley; and his sister, Frankie Gross.

Loyd will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Michael Atchley and Tommy Atchley; his daughters, Joanne Smith, Laura Atchley, and Dianna Hughey; as well as his many grandchildren: Erin Atchley, Kisha Murray, Danny Atchley, Willie Murray, David Atchley, Laura Brady, Jeromy Smith, Thomas Smith Jr., Timmy Smith, Chris Smith, Christina Foskey, Patrick Smith, Amber Pittman, Morgan Hardison, Abby Brabham, Kailey Hankosky, Nick Whitten, Matt Lindberg, Jaiden Atchley, Autumn Curtis, Austin Hughey, Johnathan Hughey, Bryan Hughey, Shannon Atchley, Racheal Atchley, Terry Atchley Jr., Jason Atchley, and Jacob Atchley.

He is also survived by 68 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other cherished family members and friends.

Loyd’s legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
