Lorraine Julia Silvis

Lorraine Julia Silvis, 84, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at her home of natural causes. She was surrounded by family when she was called to heaven. Her departure has left a void that cannot be filled. Lorraine’s vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
 
She was born on December 23,1939, in Hartford, Connecticut and lived in Edinboro, Pennsylvania most of her life. She moved to Guyton, Georgia a few years ago to be with her daughter and grandbabies.
 
Lorraine was passionate about her pets, children, and grandchildren. She always put family and friends first. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and spreading kindness, she could be found helping care for someone’s children. She also enjoyed making meals for her family and trying out new recipes. She was hopeful and optimistic even during the hard times that she faced throughout her life. She was a fighter and never ever gave up.

Lorraine’s family held a special place in her heart which overflowed with love and devotion towards each one of them. She will be survived by one sister, June Ransom; two daughters, Laurie Straight and Robin Hall; one son, Glenn Alford; four granddaughters: Jammie Yaple, Natasha Conner, Melissa Ellis, and Jenavie Woolard; three grandsons: Damian Conner, Brian Conner, and Joel Hall; and sixteen great grandchildren: Devyn Ellis, Gage Yaple, Abram Mattoon, Stella Mattoon, William Mattoon, Veda Posvar, Alex Woolard, Liam Woolard, Keigan Woolard, Caitlyn Conner, Clayton Conner, Catherine Conner, Bradley Conner, Aiden Conner, Elizabeth Conner, and Nicole Proper.

Services will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home, 1979 GA-119S. Guyton, GA. 31312, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, visitation will be held from 11AM-12PM with a funeral service to follow at 12PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service, in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro, GA.
