Lawney Lloyd Hites

Lawney Lloyd Hites, 80, of Guyton, Georgia and widower of Betty Yeaples Hites, died Tuesday evening, June 9, 2026, with his family by his side.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Everett Hite and the late Doris Heath Hite. Lawney was a member of Pineora Baptist Church in his later years. He had several interesting careers, working as an EMT, a fireman, and a truck driver. Lawney enjoyed genealogy, woodworking and working on old cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his eldest son, Nathan Hites.

Lawney is survived by his son, Warren Hites; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah & Jeremy McIntyre; his sister Terri Sue Cleaver; his grandchildren, Alena Larsen, Kieran McIntyre, Hannah McIntyre, Chloe McIntyre, Domick McIntyre, Matthew McIntyre, and Ronen McIntyre; and his great-grandchild, Benjamin Larsen.

The family will have a celebration of life at Pineora Baptist Church on Saturday morning, June 13, at 10 am, with Pastor Brian McElveen conducting the service.
