Kathleen Morgan Joyner,79, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Screven County on March 4, 1945, to the late Jesse and Katherine Morgan and lived in Effingham County for many years.
Kathleen was a member of Turkey Branch Baptist Church, where she was a member of the church choir and faithfully cleaned the church every week. Her passion for gardening and preparing Sunday dinners for her family brought warmth and happiness to all those around her. Her kind and gentle spirit touched the hearts of many. Throughout her life, Kathleen was known for her unwavering love for her family and always found joy in spending quality time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her children, Nicole Tanner (Curt) of Springfield, Charles D. Joyner Jr. (Diane) of Springfield, Jessica Carter (Stanley) of Guyton; brother, William Morgan (Beth) of Springfield; sister, Mary Sanders; grandchildren, Janie Phillips (Keenan) of Jesup, Jesse Joyner of Springfield, Jacob Tanner of Springfield, Braden Tanner of Springfield, and Tripp Hagan of Guyton; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation and funeral service to honor and celebrate Kathleen's life will take place on May 18, 2024, at Turkey Branch Baptist Church in Springfield, GA. Visitation will start at 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
