Jeanette Burris Jeffers

Mrs. Jeanette Burris Jeffers died peacefully at home in Port Wentworth, Georgia on May 5, 2016, at the age of 76.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Lynn Jeffers, Sr.; children, Lynn Jeffers, Jr., and Steve Jeffers; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Shearouse, Sandra Levenson Davis, and Buddy Burris. She is preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Mary Sue Burris; brother, Richard Burris; and sister, Gladys Borter.
Jeanette was born on October 15, 1939, in Sylvania, Georgia to Solomon and Mary Sue Burris. She graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah, Georgia in 1959. She married Lynn Jeffers, Sr. in 1960. Over the years, Jeanette was employed at Savannah Bank as a teller, at H&R Block as a checker, and was part owner and operator of Jeffers Logging where she served as bookkeeper and accountant.
Jeanette was a caring individual who was passionate about her family and her beloved pets. She loved shopping, the color purple, the music of Elvis Presley, and sewing. Her family will remember her as a loving and patient mother and grandmother who loved them unconditionally.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Jeffers Family Cemetery
