Mr. James Lawrence Taylor, Sr. 82, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Taylor was born on January 20, 1938 to Charles and Mary Taylor. He graduated from Guyton High School and spent 4 years in the United States Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blitchton and was a retired electrical instrument supervisor at Union Camp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Taylor and Mary Doyle Taylor; and brother, Jacky Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife Dolores “Susie” Taylor; children, Jimmy Taylor, Terri Barns, Ricky Harris (Christy), and Robert Taylor (Erin); beloved mother-in-law, Eloise Jenkins; brother, John Taylor; sister, Mary Ann "Sis" Goodwin; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In compliance with the President and Georgia Governor’s requests, the family will hold a private immediate family burial in the Black Creek Church Cemetery. A celebration of life for all family and friends to attend will be held at a later date.
Remembrances may be made in Mr. Taylor’s memory to First Baptist Church of Blitchton, 5204 Highway 80 East Ellabell, Georgia 31308.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Taylor, Lance Perkins, Dylin Harris, Bradley Webb, Marty Stanley, and Gil Newell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Hall, Leon Fortner, and Lee Benson.
