James Charles Poole

James Charles Poole, 74, of Bloomingdale, Georgia and husband of Susan Teresa Kersey Poole, died Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026, at Effingham Hospital.

Born in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Guy Poole and the late Grace Rumsey Poole. James was a professional painter. He painted houses and automobiles. James drove a tow truck and enjoyed doing paint and body work. He loved watching NASCAR races, but his greatest joy was hanging out with his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; his brothers, David and Frank Poole and several sisters.

Those who will cherish his memory are his beloved wife, for over 50 years, Susan Teresa Kersey Poole; his sons and daughters-in-law, James & Jessica Poole, Wayne Cason, Russell Cason, and Glen & Lori Poole; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Brian Stewart; sisters, Helen Allen, Mary Wilson, and Pauline Barton; 7 grandchildren; 3great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday morning August 22, 2026, from 10 until 11:30 at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

The graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, following the visitation.
