James David Hyman, 76, of Guyton, Georgia died on Thursday evening August 20, 2026, at his residence.
Born on August 15, 1950, to the late Andrew Jackson Hyman and the late Martha Jane Morgan Hyman. After graduating high school James joined the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam Era. James was a member of the Silver Hill Methodist Church. He worked as a handyman building and remodeling houses, rooms, and other items.
James enjoyed telling jokes, hunting and fishing. He liked riding his motorcycle and riding in his truck. James took pleasure in relaxing and watching the TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Andrew Hyman.
Those who will cherish his memory are his sons and daughter-in-law, William T. Hyman & Kelly R. Hyman and David Thomas Hyman; sisters, Miriam Barratta, Connie Wallace, Carol Miller, and Susie Jordan; grandchild Maggie A. Hyman and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 11 until 12 o’clock at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on August 28, 2026.
The funeral service will be held at 12 o’clock following the visitation with Pastor Nick Pumfrey conducting. Interment with full military honors will take place at Silver Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
