She is survived by her daughter, Carol Martin (Bob) and two grandchildren, Toby and Julia Martin. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Tora Martin. Gwen was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and grew up both in Little Rock and Fort Smith, Arkansas. She proudly received an associate's degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She spent the majority of the following years as a homemaker and loved many friends. Meanwhile, she enjoyed supporting Kirkwood Baptist Church and the Association for Instrumental Music (AIM) of the Kirkwood School District. To be close to her daughter's family, she moved to Springfield, Georgia, in 2011. There, she received excellent, compassionate care at Effingham Care Center.
