Glenn Edwin Deaton, 64, of Rincon, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Statesboro, GA. Glenn was born June 22, 1953 in Dade City, FL to Paulie & Pauline Stanfill. He was later adopted by Ellen & Cecil Deaton.
He served 6 years in the military and 26 years on Savannah and Chatham County Police Force. He is preceded in death by his birth parents, his adoptive parents, three brothers, and one sister.
He was honored for his volunteer service to Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County. He was also a member of the Effingham County American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Sonja Deaton; son, Jamie Deaton; daughter, Crystal Deaton; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Glenn was active in his church, loved hunting and fishing, and helping his fellow man.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5-7PM with services to follow at 7PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
