Geraldine Pevey Reese, 91, of Garden City, Georgia, widow of Robert A. Reese, Sr., passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2026.
Born on August 16, 1934, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Phineas Tarver “Sonny” Pevey and the late Edith Seckinger Pevey. She was a devoted member of Guyton Christian Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
Geraldine dedicated 43 years of service to Friedman’s Art Store, where she worked her way to become General Manager before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to both her career and those around her.
Nothing brought Geraldine greater joy than spending time with her family. She loved preparing meals, especially Sunday dinners that gathered everyone around the table, creating treasured memories that her family will cherish forever. Her home was always a place of love, warmth, and hospitality. During the last ten years of Geraldine’s life, Cookie Jammison Hanna lovingly cared for both Geraldine and her husband, Robert. Through her faithful devotion and compassionate care, Cookie became a cherished member of the Reese family and will always hold a special place in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Robert A. Reese, Sr.; her brothers, J. P. Pevey and Jack Pevey; and her sister, Jewell Tebeau.
She is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Reese, Jr. and Marcia Reese; her daughter, Frances Elaine Palmer; her sister, Jeanette DeWitt; her grandchildren, Alex Reese and Heidi Reese; her cherished great-grandchildren, Pasha Reese and Ellie Reese; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Geraldine will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her devotion to family, and the love she shared so generously with everyone blessed to know her. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and grace will live on the the hearts of those she loved.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Mark Pickening. Burial will follow at Guyton Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
