Elna Jorene Carroll “Grannymom”, born on January 18th, 1937, in Wilsonville, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 9,2026 at the age of 89. Heaven gained a very special Angel.
To know Grannymom was to know love, kindness, and a giving soul. She gave so much to this world, especially to children. Her heart cared so much for everyone she encountered. You could ask any child about her vase, and they would tell you that is where she keeps the $100 bills that she loved to give out. She never missed a chance to tell someone about Jesus. If you spoke to Grannymom, you were guaranteed to hear about Jesus and His love. Grannymom wanted everyone to know that she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at 15.
Grannymom was a dedicated small business owner, working alongside her beloved husband at Carroll and Carroll, Inc. Her commitment to the Lord, her family and her work was the foundation upon which her life was built. Grannymom enjoyed shopping, spoiling her babies, bird watching, puzzles, card games, watching “Reba”, all things pretty and most of all talking to anyone who would listen about Jesus.
Grannymom is survived by her daughter Sheri Goros (Tim), “adopted” daughter Tammy Lynn Phillips (David); grandchildren Sarah Catherine Fordham (Matt), Mary Grace Siddall (Weston), Nikolai Goros, Tyler Campbell (Emma), Peyton Phillips (Jamie), Cody Phillips (Erin), Madelyn Phillips, and Brooklyn “Gracie” Phillips; great-grandchildren Matthew, Blaine, Anna Catherine, Taylor, Victoria, Waylon, Reverie and many other chosen children and grandchildren far and wide.
Grannymom is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arland Carroll “Pop”, with whom she shared 68 wonderful years; parents Gilder and Agnes Irene Andrews; brothers, Billy Jack, Johnny, Jerrell, Jimmie, and Jerry.
Family and friends are invited to bid farewell to Grannymom at the visitation held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home in Guyton, Ga, on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, from 12:00-1:00 PM with a memorial service celebrating her life at 1:00 PM at the same location. A special request for all who attend to wear non-traditional funeral attire but instead wear their most colorful pretty attire to honor Grannymom.
She is now where her soul has longed to be, in Heaven beside her Pop and her only job in Heaven is rocking little babies. Though out hearts mourn at the loss of such a wonderful woman, we know Heaven is an even better (and a little sassier) place with her there.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Bible Baptist Church in memory of Arland and Jorene Carroll.
