-Savannah- Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Givas Kyllonen "Yaya", 73, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at Candler County Hospital.
Betty was born in The Bronx, NY, on March 15, 1944, to Efthimios and Mary Givas. She was raised in Newark, NJ, until her mother passed away when she was 7 years old. Betty was then raised by Thomas and Whinnie Ferguson in Union, NJ.
Betty met her husband, Paul Kyllonen, at Youth Camp in Pennsylvania, who was studying to become a Pastor at Northeast Bible Institute. After they got married, they went into ministry together for over 30 years at five different churches in Pennsylvania in the cities of Bessemer, Emmaus, Philadelphia, Chambersburg ,and Bentleyville. Betty served along her husband's side as secretary, piano player, worship leader and van driver.
She impacted thousands of people with her love.
Survivors include: her brother, Sam Givas; son, Tommy & Lucy (Daughter-in-law) Kyllonen; daughter, Tammy & Greg (Son-in-law) Shearouse; and grandchildren, Deyana, Sophia and Gabriel.
A celebration of life service will be held at United Family Christian Fellowship, 5918 Ogeechee Road Savannah, GA 31419, on Thursday September 21st, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
