Eldon Carl Mingledorff,85, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Candler Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1939, and spent his life as a warm and welcoming presence to those fortunate enough to know him.
Carl, as he was fondly known, took great pride in his home and cherished time spent on his land. His nurturing spirit shone through in his passion for gardening and his love for animals was equally profound as he raised pigs, chickens, and goats. Known as the best handyman around, Carl possessed a remarkable ability to fix anything and everything. His kind heart and willingness to lend a hand were traits that endeared him to many.
Above all, Carl treasured spending time with his family, embracing the simple joys of togetherness. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alice Mingledorff; and brothers, Thomas Mingledorff and Joseph Mingledorff.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Mingledorff; son, Mike Mingledorff (Angie) of Bloomingdale; daughter, Karla Ann Mingledorff of Guyton; grandchildren, Jonathan Mingledorff (Andrea), Bradley Mingledorff (Reba), Zachary Mingledorff, Christopher Nelms (Carol), Brandon Nelms (Destiny), and Angie Fleming; brother, Willie Mingledorff of Savannah; sister, Mary Porter Lamb of Tillman, SC; and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 2-3pm with a funeral service to follow at 3pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Mizpah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
