Dorothy “Annette” Woodall Huddleston Cox returned home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born on November 30, 1932, in Dallas, Texas, Annette was the daughter of the late Leslie Howard Woodall and Evelyn Sue Stamps. She lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family, her greatest joy spending time with those she loved—especially sharing laughter with friends and family and playing video games with her grandchildren. She also delighted in working puzzles, playing bridge, traveling, discovering new recipes, gardening and reading. Annette followed the Episcopal faith starting at 5 years old and was a member of St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Dallas, Texas, where she was married at the age of 19. She served the Lord faithfully through Bible study and as a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of McKinney, Texas since 2005, she was honored to serve on the Altar Guild and with The Daughters of the King.
Annette was preceded in her return to the Lord by her first husband of more than 50 years, Jimmie Lon Huddleson, her Baby Lon Huddleston, and her second husband of 13 years, Jere Louis Cox.
Annette is loved and remembered by her son, Jefferey Huddleson (Michelle) of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; her daughters, Leslie Huddleson of Savannah, Georgia, Teresa Bouse of Plano, Texas, Denise Taylor (Bill) of Weatherford, Texas, and Laura Herrin (Lee) of Anna, Texas; her sisters, Sandra Whited (“Gabby”) of Bella Vista, AR and Donna Floyd (Mark) of Boerne, TX; her sister-in-law Jan Hinton (Sonny) of Shreveport, LA; 12 grandchildren – Roland Towery (Jamie), Rachel Sines, William Taylor (Emily), Cody Hutchison (Rob), Beaux Taylor, Travis Porter, Burton Taylor, Brooke Huddleston, Madeline Rector (Will), Brickman Clow, Hayden Clow and Jolie Clow; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Annette’s warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A reception hosted by The Daughters of the King will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
