Donna Lou Portner

Donna Portner, 65, passed away at Effingham County Hospital on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Donna was born on September 23, 1959, in Vidalia, Georgia and lived in Effingham County most of her life. Donna was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. 

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Buena Pete Durden; father, John Henry Stevenson; husband, William Patrick Portner; brother, Buford Wayne Glover; niece, Electra Laverne Glover; and two Granddaughters. 

Survivors include: her brother, Jimmy Glover (AJ) of Soperton; sister, Pamela Bunch (Miles) of Springfield; children, Carrie Miller (Corey Crump) of Rincon, Jan Rhett (Elijah) of Springfield and Sateava Joyner (Jamie Aguilar) of Springfield; grandchildren, Anthony English of Savannah, Jawanna Rhett of Springfield, Herbert Stevenson of Savannah, Dalante Stevenson of Rincon, Elijah Rhett (Kimberly Sheppard) of Rincon, Donna Rhett of Springfield, Dayshan Miller of Rincon, and Linda Green of Savannah; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 3-5pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made towards Ms. Donna’s services.
