Guyton-Mr. Donald W. Roundtree, 72, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Donald was born on February 12, 1949 in Cortez, Colorado and grew up in Chandler, Arizona. He Enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1969, served his country for 21 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his distinguished military career, he received multiple service medals and letters of commendation. After his military service, he returned to college and received his associates degree in electrical drafting.
Donald worked for Palmetto Electric as an Electrical Engineer until his retirement. He was a faithful servant of God and a member of Pineora Baptist Church. Donald had a beautiful tenor voice and loved to sing in the choir. He was very witty, had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh. He was a truly kind and patient man, and a genuine friend to all.
Among many of his favorite pastimes were reading, studying the Bible, and watching old western movies. He also loved spending time traveling, fishing, and crabbing with his family. His favorite place to travel with his wife and children was The Smoky Mountains, which they visited often.
He was dedicated to his family, a loving husband, and a wonderful father.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Vestal Roundtree; sister, Sandra Jordan; and brother, Ron Roundtree.
Survivors include: his devoted wife of 46 years, Suki Roundtree; daughters: Tracy Dawn Martinez and Connie Savino (Paul); son, Steven Roundtree; granddaughters, Mishea Martinez and Caelyn Ray; mother, Wanda Roundtree; brothers, John Roundtree and Mike Roundtree; sister, Anita Buckley; one great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Pineora Baptist Church on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 10-11am with a memorial service to follow at 11am. The family request everyone in attendance comply with Covid safety guidelines and wear a mask.
