Rincon-Donald G. Hall, Sr., 82, passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, surrounded by his children, eldest grandson, and several siblings.
Don was born on September 8,1940 in Havre de Grace, MD and lived in Maryland for most of his life before moving to Rincon, GA. in 1997. Above all, he loved Jesus and his family and friends. Don found much joy in working on and racing cars, riding his motorcycle, bowling, playing cards, shooting guns, listening to classical music, and eating ice cream. He also really LIKED the name Pat. He enjoyed watching Clint Eastwood, James Bond, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Indiana Jones movies and comedies like Ernest in the Army.
Don was a Veteran serving in the Army for twenty years, having retired in 1979. It was during this time that he completed several college courses to advance his career. While in the military he served as a radar technician in communications and received numerous awards/medals including a Vietnam Services Medal. He was an active member of Maranatha Family Church in Rincon for many years and generously supported the work of ministry.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hall; parents, Alex and Mary Hall; siblings, John Hall, Emma Fox, Clarence Hall, Rose Britt and Wilma Cheek; grandchildren-(5 in utero) and Montana Hall; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Survivors include: his daughter and son in law, Brenda and Shane Forinash of Twin City, GA; daughter, Tina Hall of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter, Crystal McCall of Raleigh, NC; son and daughter in law, Alex and Virginia Hall of Glade Valley, NC; son, Donald Hall, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; nine grandchildren, Chris Hall, Kaylee and Kevin Forinash, Krystina Parks, Patricia and Marshall McCall, Ashley and Zachary Hall, and Jenn Rhine; nine great grandchildren, Tyler, Jameson, Layla, Corvin and Ryker Hall, Soren Parks, Terrian Williams, and Lloyd and Aiden Rhine; and five siblings, Noble Hall, Barbara VanDyke, William Hall, Betty Kegerreis, and Dorothy Wilson.
A military service and Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at a later date.
