Curtis Melvin Ford “Saw Mans Son”,57, took the checkered flag and made his final lap into victory lane following a courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday, August 7, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, where his mama and daddy were waiting for him.
Curtis had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. He loved to laugh, have a good time and always had a joke ready to tell. Some of his favorite past times were fishing, NASCAR racing watching notably anyone who drove a ford. He also enjoyed adding to his junk collection which was so large his sisters nicknamed him “Fred G. Sanford”.
Curtis came from a remarkably close family, He worked side by side daily with his daddy in their saw and tool sharpening business that they ran together for over 30 years. His mama worked closely with them until her health failed. Being the first born, his mama thought he could do no wrong. When he was not working, he always looked for new and different ways to pick at his twin sisters. Curtis was a huge presence in his families life and he will be very sorely missed.
Preceded in death were his mother and father, Jerry and Betty Jane Ford; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Cassie Ford; and maternal grandparents, L.M. “Jug” and Florence Vaughn.
