Celia Anne King Hendrix

Celia Anne King Hendrix, 89, of Guyton, Georgia and widow of Buford Hendrix, died Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, at PruittHealth - Seaside in Port Wentworth, Georgia.

Celia was born to her late father John L. King, and her late mother Margaret Hefner King, on January 26, 1937, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She worked at Belk, selling shoes for over 20 years. Celia married Burford Hendrix. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Celia loved a nice cup of hot tea. She liked watching Judge Judy, detective and police shows.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years; her daughter, Deborah Allen; grandchildren, Hugo Hendrix and Keith Allen Hughes; brothers, J. R. King, Kenneth King, William King, and Phillip King; and her sisters, Mildred King Whitten, Dorcas King Ferguson, Dean King Armour and Pat King Thomasson.

Those who will cherish her memory are her sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas Hendrix, Kenneth Hendrix and Kevin & Sondra Hendrix; grandchildren, John Michael Hendrix and Melissa Allen; great-grandchild, Arianna Crawford; brothers, Olin King, Johnny King, and Jerry King; her sister, Rita Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home, 1979 Hwy 119 S., Guyton.

The funeral service will graveside at Hendrix Cemetery in Rocky Ford, Georgia at 12 o’clock on Monday April 13, 2026, conducted by Pastor Calvin Bradley.
