Betty Irene Pittman

Mrs. Betty Irene Pittman, 62, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Betty was born on September 19, 1961, in Savannah and lived in Effingham County for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and making jelly preserves. Above all Betty loved spending time with her family, they enjoyed going on trips to the mountains, spending time at the beach and exploring caves. Any chance Betty got, she could be found outside enjoying nature, listening to the birds chirping and tending to flowers. Betty was very outgoing and never met a stranger, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 43 years, Joe Pittman; son, Christopher Lee Pittman(Natalie) of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Pittman of Austin, TX; brother, Edward Hargroves of Marlow; sisters, Elizabeth Cole (Mark) of Marlow and Dorothy Dasher of Sandhill; aunt and uncle, Ann and Wilbur Peeples of Palmer, AK; best friends, Vera Dasher of Marlow, Sarah Cassell of Rincon, and Patty Slavic of Washington State; beloved four-legged companion, Anna Marie; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 2-3pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home.
