-Guyton-Mr. Arthur “Art” Eugene Cannon, Jr., 57, passed away surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with ALS and COPD, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at his home.
Mr. Arthur was the proud business owner of A Work of Art Roofing for many years and was ASE certified. In his free time, he enjoyed remodeling hot rods, drifting down dirt roads, gardening, and eating boiled peanuts. Arthur was a dedicated Christian and family man who enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Survivors include: his mother, Carolyn “Peggy” Cannon; father and step-mother, Arthur E. Sr. and Judy Cannon; son, Arthur “Chip” E. Cannon III; daughters and sons-in-law, Tami M. and Jon P. Randolph, and Christina K. and Jeremy G. Ray; brother and sister-in-law, Roy A. and Cindy Cannon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice E. and Charles Rich, and Pamela E. and William D. Hammond; grandchildren, Chris E. Hendrix, Noah T. Hodge, Cassidy T. Thurman, Jeremiah G. Ray, Jr., and Nathan C. Randolph; and mother of his children, Cheri Y. Futch.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10AM-11AM with funeral services to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11AM. Interment will be held in Springfield Annex.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in his memory to the ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022 or to Pineland BHDD,P.O. Box 745, Statesboro, GA 30459.
