Anita Gilman Brett DeLoach, 86, of Smyrna, Georgia and widow of Cecil Wayne Brett, Sr. and Joseph Edward DeLoach, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side.
Born on October 7, 1939, to her late father Steve Gilman and her late mother Mytrie Turner Gilman. She was a retail manager for many years. Anita enjoyed traveling and sitting on her porch in her rocking chair. She liked flowers and gardening. As the wife of a Shriner Anita, enjoyed parades and the horses. Her greatest thrill was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Sanford and Hewett; and her sister, Helen.
Those who will cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Wayne, Jr. & Linda Brett, of Smyrna, Georgia; sisters and sons-in -law, Valerie Brett & Mac Mason, of Rincon, Georgia and Beverly Debra Davis & Teddy Stevens, of Rincon, Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday morning April 29, 2026, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home in Guyton, Georgia from 11 o’clock until 12:30.
The funeral service will be graveside on Wednesday afternoon April 29, 2026, at 2 o’clock at Hillcrest Abbey West, on Dean Forest Road conducted by Pastor Shawn Lee Driggers.
