Alvin Michael Hesler, age 42, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Alvin was born in Savannah, Georgia, and lived out his life on High Bluff surrounded by his family. He worked for many years with family at Elliott’s Landscape Group.
Alvin was a true individual—someone who did things his own way and lived life on his own terms. He was known as a bit of a loner and didn’t care much for crowds, but those who knew him understood the depth of his heart. Alvin loved his family deeply, especially his mother and his Aunt Kitty, and he wore his heart on his sleeve. Beneath his quiet nature was a surprising sense of humor that often caught people off guard and brought smiles to those around him.
He found joy in simple things—chopping wood, swimming in the creek, and spending time outdoors. Alvin also had a well-known habit of misplacing just about anything that wasn’t attached to him, from his phone and wallet to his keys, a trait that became one of the many stories his family will always remember with a smile.
One of the most unforgettable parts of Alvin’s personality was his unique sense of humor and companionship—his favorite passenger, “Bones,” a full skeleton that rode along with him, perfectly capturing Alvin’s one-of-a-kind spirit.
Alvin is survived by his parents, Robert and Stella Boyett; his sisters, Amy Hickox (Michael) of Waycross, Georgia, and Alicia Elliott (Russell) of Richmond Hill, Georgia; his nephews Dylan Boyett (Amber) of Springfield, Georgia, and Ethan Elliott (Ally) of Richmond Hill, Georgia; his nieces Amelia Elliott and Lilly Rose Hickox; his special aunt, Kitty Kay; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Adam Hesler, and his dear friend Luther White.
Alvin will be honored with a celebration of life at the Tommy Long Boat Ramp on Thursday at 10AM, which is his favorite place on earth.
Alvin will be remembered for his big heart, his quiet but meaningful presence, and the unmistakable way he lived life entirely as himself.
